Routed on what connects

Ranked on cost divided by answer rate. The cheapest deck is not the cheapest route.

Rounded the way we are charged

You pay the carrier’s own increment. Never a second further.

Priced before you dial

We check the number is reachable before we quote it. No rate followed by a failure.

Why Selatel

Built to be checkable.

Four things you can hold us to.

Quality before price

Carriers are ranked on cost divided by answer rate. A cheap line that drops calls loses.

No contracts

Pay as you go. Nothing auto-renews, nothing locks, nothing expires.

Your card stays yours

Payment happens on the processor’s own page. No card number ever reaches us.

Every cent accounted

A double-entry ledger behind every balance. Your history is the books.

The app

Every number you care about, priced before you tap it.

The cost of the call sits next to the person you are calling.

  • Per country and per network. MTN and Telecel are not the same price.
  • Your contacts, only if you ask. Never read in the background.
  • A real ledger. Your history is the books, not a summary.

How we route

The cheapest deck is not the cheapest route.

A line that fails half its calls costs double — the failure still burns setup, then cascades to a second paid attempt. So we rank on rate ÷ answer rate.

  • Grey routes refused outright. A quote below a country’s mandated floor is a SIM box, not a bargain.
  • A rate ceiling, not a blocklist. It catches premium-rate numbers no list knows yet.
Carrier Alow rate · 41% answer
Carrier Bhigher rate · 93% answer
Carrier Cgrey route · refused
Carrier A quotes less per minute and still costs more, because two in five calls never connect and every failure is paid for twice. Carrier B wins the cascade. Carrier C is not compared on price at all.

Pricing

Three commitments, each one a decision in the code.

Built into the billing, not written on a page.

Per minute, never bundled

No bundles. No “up to” hours. No credit that expires.

No rounding we profit from

We bill the carrier’s block and stop there. The app names those destinations on the call.

No weekly fee

Nothing for having an account. Nothing for a quiet week.

Billed in 60-second blocks. That is how this carrier bills us. You are not rounded past it.

On the call

The meter is on the screen, not in the invoice.

Most apps tell you what a call cost once it is over. Selatel shows the increment while you are still talking — because the increment, not the headline rate, is where this industry hides its margin.

  • The block is named, on the call. 1-second, 6-second or 60-second — whatever the carrier bills us, said plainly while it matters.
  • We stop where they stop. No second increment layered on top of theirs.
  • Hang up and the balance is already right. The charge is written to the ledger as the call ends, not batched overnight.

Coverage

Call overseas to nearly every country.

Two hundred and eight destinations the app can name, flag and dial.

How to call

Three taps, then it rings.

  1. Get the appiOS or Android. Sign in with your number — a six-digit code, no password.
  2. Add creditCard or Apple Pay. The bonus, if one is running, lands in the same transaction.
  3. Pick a name and callThe per-minute price sits next to the person before you tap.

Questions

The things people ask first.

What does a call cost?

Per minute, per country, per network — shown in the app before the call connects. MTN and Telecel are different prices and we show both rather than averaging them into one number.

Are there fees or subscriptions?

No. Nothing is deducted for holding an account or a balance, credit does not expire, and there is no plan to auto-renew.

Why is rounding mentioned so often?

Because it is where this industry hides margin. Some destinations are billed to us in blocks rather than by the second. Where that happens we bill you the same block and no further, and the app names those destinations on the call.

Can I send money with Selatel?

Not yet. Moving money on someone else’s behalf needs money transmitter licences, and it stays switched off until we hold them. The feature is built and tested — it is a licensing question, not an engineering one.

What happens to my contacts?

Nothing, unless you ask. The address book is never read in the background. You tick the people you want to add and only those are saved.

Where does the price come from?

Wholesale carriers, whose rates change. When one reprices, the app reprices — and you always see the current rate before you dial, never after.

Also on Selatel

More than the call.

Mobile top-up

Airtime straight onto a phone back home. It lands on their number, not as a voucher somebody has to redeem.

News, radio and video

Stations and headlines from home, in the same app you call from.

Money transfer

Built and tested. Switched off until the money transmitter licences are held — a licensing question, not an engineering one.

Nobody calls home about nothing.

The call matters. The billing should not be the part you think about.
