    Being listed in the directory is not the same as service being live. Rates are set by wholesale carriers and change, so the app shows the current rate for the number you have typed — we do not publish one here that could be stale by the time you call.

    Pick someone from your contacts or type the number. The rate for that country and that network appears before the call connects, not after it ends.

    Airtime top-up

    Send credit straight onto someone's phone. You choose the country and network, enter their number, and the airtime lands on that line — there is no voucher to read out and nothing for them to redeem.

    Three commitments. Each one is a decision in the billing code rather than a line on a marketing page.

    • Per minute, never bundled

      No bundles, no “up to” hours, no credit that expires. You buy credit and spend it on calls at the rate shown.

    • No rounding in our favour

      Some destinations are billed to us in blocks rather than by the second — one second, six seconds or sixty, depending on the carrier. We bill you that same block and stop there, and the app names the block during the call.

    • No weekly fee

      Nothing is deducted for holding an account or a balance, and nothing is charged for a quiet week.

    What does a call cost?
    Per minute, and the rate depends on the country and the network you are calling. It is shown in the app before the call connects. MTN and Telecel are different prices and both are shown rather than averaged into a single number.
    Why is no price shown on this page?
    Because it would be out of date. Rates come from wholesale carriers and change when they reprice. The app holds the current rate for the exact number you have typed, which is the only place it can be correct.
    Are there fees or subscriptions?
    No. Nothing is deducted for holding an account or a balance, credit does not expire, and there is no plan that auto-renews.
    Which countries can I call?
    The dialling directory covers 208 countries and territories. Service is going live first in Ghana and Nigeria — being listed in the directory is not the same as being live, and the app is the place that knows which is which for a given number.
    What does “billed in blocks” actually mean?
    A carrier may charge us for a whole minute even if a call lasts forty seconds. That is their increment, and where it applies we pass on the same increment and add nothing on top of it. The app names the block on the call, so the number you are being charged in is visible while it still matters rather than on a statement afterwards.
    How are calls routed?
    Through wholesale carriers, ranked on cost divided by answer rate rather than on headline price alone — the cheapest deck is frequently not the route that connects. This is the part of the service nobody should have to think about; it is here because people ask.
    What happens to my contacts?
    Nothing, unless you ask. The address book is never read in the background. You tick the people you want to add and only those are saved.
    How do I get the app?
    Email support@selatel.com and say whether you are on iPhone or Android. There is no public App Store or Google Play listing yet, so anyone offering you one is not us.
